Spotify’s Failed #SquadGoals
The co-author of the Spotify model 2 and multiple agile coaches who worked at Spotify have been telling people to not copy it for years. Unfortunately, truth doesn’t spread as quickly or as widely as an idea people want to believe in. This post is less about Spotify, and more about us wanting to believe in miracle frameworks to solve complex challenges. Which - if we’re honest - may always be with us as a basic condition of collaborating with others. Extraordinary insiders diagnostic on Spotify’s Squads

‘Double Nudge’ Encourages Employers To Offer Flexibility, In Turn Boosting Job Application Rates
Fascinating story on a platform ‘nudging’ employers to offer flexibility in job postings by repositioning the option to do so on the job creation flow, which in turn led to increased applicant rates after the job was posted. Can be read from an information architecture / UX point of view, and / or from the job seeker sentiment perspective. Either way, it’s definitely brainfood. The Exact 3 Closing Words That Maximize Email Results
[Spoiler alert] - the three words are ‘thanks in advance’, a classic presumptive close on a request made. IM is influencing email communication though, so I suspect there will be a time limit to the relevance of this research. Raises an interesting angle though - how you end an email maybe even more important than how you start it. ENGAGEMENT

I’m still in London folks, prepping ‘phase 2’ of my Covid-19 strategy. I need to have my own strategy as UK govt doesn’t seem to have one, other than be persistently 3 months behind what everyone else in the world is doing. Got to improve my mask game in any case, so I may well pay any amount of money for a prototype of this effort from tech innovator Tyler Glaiel. Have a great week everybody. Hung
